Straight – Kerbside Caddy

AAC Technology recently developed the tooling for Straight’s Kerbside Caddy. The Kerbside Caddy has been a great advancement, providing an ideal solution for food waste collections.
By working closely with Straight and having a keen understanding of what they need,
we have been able to produce a tough and easy to handle product.

The 23 litre Kerbside Caddy has a hinged locking lid and shell grip which both add to the
ease and usefulness of the product. It can also be customised to your requirements, it is available in a range of colours and even offers the provision for a chip nest to house
an RFID tag, which uses radio-frequency identification to track the caddy.

Aberdeenshire Council in 2008 strived to expand its recycling services and was one of the
first local authorities to use the product to do so. Since then the product has become market leading and in the later part of 2008 was adopted by Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council.
The Council has used the 23 litre Kerbside Caddy to expand their highly successful waste collection scheme. 25,000 households are now taking part in the scheme and
approximately 150 tonnes of food waste is collected each month.

Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council have found the new service to make a substantial improvement to their recycling scheme and not only enjoy the effectiveness of the product,
but the fact that it is manufactured in the UK, reducing the costs and environmental impact
of the product.
