I graduated with a BSc Joint Honours in Mathematics and Economics from Newcastle University and started working in an accounts department for a distributor in Sheffield. While working, I studied for my ACCA qualification and progressed in the company until I reached the position of company accountant. I was admitted as member of ACCA in 2004. Just over 3 years ago, I left the distributor I had been working at for 10 years and joined AAC Technology as financial controller.
I live with my husband who I married in June 2012 and we have 3 cats: two boys (aged 2 and 4), and a girl (aged 3). We both enjoy our cricket, and are members of Derbyshire Cricket Club. Although, due to the British weather, we don’t actually get to see that much cricket!
I provide AAC Technology with the financial support from statutory and management accounts to budgeting and forecasting. I also ensure that all the accounting information required from our parent company is delivered to deadlines. In the accounts department, we undertake the non-financial tasks that no one else wants to do!
I support Liverpool, although from the sofa these days. It has been a few years since I last actually travelled to a match at Anfield.
To remember; it's not how long something lasts until it breaks, it’s how long you can make it last after it is broken.
